Working on my final designs

Snapshots from the BBC Great Expectations opening.
Going back to the reference from the BBC series of Great expectations with the butterflies I have brought some butterflies that I will use as props/accessories to apply to the face and work into the hair.

Below is an image from Women's headdress and hairstyles by Georgine de Courtai. This image is a Victorian drawing that relates to my hairstyle tutorial in my previous post.

Below is also a picture that I took of my dolls head when I practiced to create this hairstyle.

I do like this hairstyle that I have created on my dolls head, however I don’t think that it is exciting enough, or has enough reference to the butterflies that I want to include. I would also like to include some different tones and textures in the hair so that it will be a more interesting final image using black and white photography.

When I began practicing my makeup on myself I wanted to use contrasting colours on the face as well as visible contouring and highlighting. Here is an image of my makeup that I created on myself. I then changed the picture into black and white to see how the tone and texture of the makeup would come across in black and white photography.

My final makeup design for Estella including the
butterfly reference
