Creating masculine hair

It is important to know how to be able to create masculine hair from mid length to long hair. In a lesson we were told to create a masculine hair style on our dolly heads. This post shows how i tried to create a masculine hairstyle from long hair.

Products/tolls needed to create this look:
  • Hair serum
  • Curling tongs
  •  Hairspray
  •  Pins and grips

Here is a step by step of how to create this look:
  1. Section the hair with a side parting from the front and the back from the ears to the top of the scalp/head.
  2. Clip the two front sections out of the way.
  3. Using the curling tongs create barrel curls out of small sections of the hair going down to the ears of both front sections of hair. Hold in place using grips.
  4. Create a vertical roll with the back section of hair. To ensure this section is as flat to the head as possible you should make the roll as wide as you can. Use pins and grips to hold in place.
  5.  Remove the pins from the front sections of the hair and brush out the curls.
  6. You should then begin to connect the front sections of hair with the vertical roll in the back. You can use serum in the hair to help keep the hair smoothly together.
  7. Hold all of one side section together and curl the ends up and place it on top of the head hidden behind the top/front shape of the hair.
  8. Repeat this for the other side front section of hair.
  9. Use hairspray to hold in place.

Here are the images of my final masculine hair look that I created in class.
