Deep purple synthetic hair

As I wasn’t completely happy with my first attempt at creating the Victorian twist and bun in the hair I wanted to create something that is more exciting but still has reference to butterflies and the Victorian era.

I went to Trendsetters in Southampton and brought some deep purple synthetic hair which I want to include in the hair to add colour and texture to the final black and white image. I began searching Google for ways which I can include butterflies using the hair itself.

I came across this video which is shown below which is a butterfly braid tutorial.

Me modelling my synthetic wig

To create my final Estella hair design I will be using a light brown synthetic wig, this picture on the right is me wearing the wig. I will also include some braids with the deep purple synthetic hair which will go around the head to cover the hairline of the wig.

By using the deep purple synthetic hair within my final hair design for Estella it will add tone and texture to the hair style and make the black and white image of the hair more interesting. To keep some Victorian reference to my final hair design I will keep the roll at either side of the face with a middle parting.
