Versions of Great Expectations I’ve seen

BBC three part series
This version of Great Expectations was shown in 2011 it was written by Sarah Phelps, Directed by Brian Kirk. Miss Havisham was played by Gillian Anderson, Pip was played by Douglas
Estella, Miss Havisham and Pip in the BBC series
of Great Expectations
Booth and Estella was played by Vanessa Kirby.

I really enjoyed the opening scene of the first episode. The gloomy set of the wet, dark marshes was a great way to give an automatic feeling of the story. Throughout the series a very gloomy and dark feel is kept. The chosen actors/acctresses for the main characters I think were very effective.

Overall this was my favourite interpretation of Great Expectations that I have watched while building my research of the story.

Great Expectations 2012
This was a movie version of Great Expectations which was released in 2012. It was directed by Mike Newell and the screen play was written by David Nicholls.

Pip was played by Jeremy Irvine. This was the most intresting version of Pip that I have seen. The relationship between him and Estella throughout the movie was very mysterious. I loved how they’re relationship portrayed in this version of Great Expectations.
Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham in this
2012 version of Great Expectations.

Estella was played by Holiday Grainger and Miss Havisham was played by Helena Bonham Carter. Miss Havisham was very eccentric looking in this interpretation. Her hair was very wild and messy. This is how I would love to portray Miss Havisham for my assessment.

Below is the official trailer of the movie which I think shows the most interesting parts of the movie. In the trailer you can see how each character was interpreted for this version of Great Expectations.
